Based in Spain, Belén Cortés is a multimedia interdisciplinary artist whose practice weaves a personal mythology by rewriting/rerepresenting/creating variations of several themes or leitmotivs into a speculative history of the cyborg.

 

Fascinated by the potential of a “cyborg-self,” her recent projects explore how individuals might merge with technology to foster deeper, more sustainable ways of living and thinking. She combines expressive, experimental gestures with a refined sensitivity across media, exploring themes of intimacy, memory, folklore, and technology.
